New Restaurant ‘The Avery Kitchen & Bar’ To Open Late Summer, Replacing The Daily Grill In Hyatt Regency Tulsa Downtown Hotel
The Downtown Tulsa restaurant boom continues with another exciting opening scheduled for this summer, The Avery Kitchen & Bar.
The Downtown Hyatt Tulsa team partnered with The McNellie’s Group to develop the new concept, described as a culinary ode to Tulsa’s iconic Route 66 roots.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Tulsa, OK (July 18th, 2024) – The Downtown Tulsa restaurant boom continues with another exciting opening scheduled for this summer, The Avery Kitchen & Bar. The Avery will replace The Daily Grill space at the Downtown Tulsa Hyatt Regency Hotel, a spot long respected as a staple eatery for downtown business executives. But the hotel restaurant’s new era promises far more than quick breakfast and lunch fare.
On a mission to totally rethink the concept, The Hyatt Regency Tulsa team partnered with local hospitality veterans at The McNellie’s Group to reimagine the physical space. The restaurant’s name is a nod to Cyrus Avery, Father of Route 66.
“There are few people in town who understand dining in Tulsa better than The McNellies Group,” explained Amal Irizarry, The Avery’s Director of Food & Beverage, “So they were a natural partner for us. While our food and beverage programs will feel pretty different, we were glad to have their eye and expertise on our physical space. We know it’s going to be stunning.”
The team also invested in new staff appointments - Executive Chef Jason Crawford, Chef De Cuisine, Rico Yarbrough, and General Manager, Jennie Lloyd, along with a total menu overhaul.
More details about the menu and ambiance will be announced in the coming weeks, but the cuisine promises to call back to the flavors of Tulsa’s oil boom heyday at the height of the Route 66 renaissance. Guests can expect breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus full of elevated American classics, and a revamped bar program and patio experience.
The Downtown Hyatt Tulsa General Manager Andrew Hargis said the new restaurant is bringing exciting changes to the hotel and downtown Tulsa’s food scene.
“We appreciate our many years of successful partnership with the Daily Grill, and are thrilled to reimagine what the restaurant will be next. Avery brings us into an exciting new chapter, with a menu that reads like a story. We wanted to create something fresh and exciting for Tulsans and hotel guests alike – something worthy of the city's iconic past and exciting present.
We can’t wait to see it come to life.”
The Hyatt team will kick off a month-long renovation on July 22nd, meant to capture the iconic era the name references. Renovations are scheduled to conclude in late August, but rather than fully shut down during the renovation, the restaurant will run amended breakfast, lunch, and dinner service from the hotel lobby while interior updates are made. As service continues, guests who visit during July and August will enjoy early tastes of The Avery from a limited menu as the restaurant completes a full transformation. Service will be offered daily during this time, with breakfast running from 6:30AM – 11AM, lunch from 11AM – 4PM, and dinner from 5PM – 11PM.
The Avery's grand opening party and new menu release is slated for late September at 100 E 2nd Street. Curious culinary buffs can follow along on social media to learn more as The Avery transitions, and to be the first to snag a seat at the grand opening.
